Sing your Song – Quick Start Challenge Video

This may be late but boy is it an accomplishment for me.  Thank you to the Quick Start Challenge team for making me take action!!  It occurred to me that in this age of instant gratification it’s “easy” to seek perfection – not a “bad” thing but it can inhibit us so much.  I learned that sometimes the most important consideration is how much effort we put into just “starting” and from there being willing to learn more and – reach out to others to ask for help.  Babies learn to walk by frequently falling down and getting back up – like riding a bike or learning to ride a horse.  Even the best show jumpers or dressage riders fell off when they began – so I look forward to falling on my face less frequently and becoming accomplished!!

  2. Now, please have fun with me!!! My common feature is mixing up names! I am very sorry I named you Barbara (probably because of the surname), I can’t explain why this happens to me, it’s my brain thing… Please accept my apology for “renaming you”…! Probably I’ll write a post on my blog to warn visitors that this does not happen to me because I want to…:(

    • That is too funny – “story” here – believe me you are not alone – I have given up saying my name is not Barbara or Babs or Barb – it’s something people do and I have never understood it. No offence

      • Hi Linda, I thought Desana maybe saw my post but now I see your name Babb…and could see why someone might call you Babs, Barb or even Barbara!!! I go around telling people they can call me Barbs, Babs, Barbie, Bobbi, BJ or Barbara as long as you call! LOL! As I mentioned earlier, really loved you video. Keep up the good work 🙂

    • Hi Desana, you probably made the mistake because I had commented before you did and my name is Barbara! LOL. I have done the same thing already! BTW, I checked out your video and left you a comment there 🙂

  3. From the blogroll it looks like there were over 350 of us that actually made it this far. I am looking forward to seeing how we progress over the next 3 weeks, especially the part that wants us to write a good post every day. And as for doing a video? still it looks like you are off to a good start here.

ps: It’s NEVER too late. You have done more here than 80% of the people who started and dropped out already.

  5. What a beautiful video – Thanks for sharing your thoughts & wonderful quotations Linda.

Like a lot of people in the challenge, I know, from bitter personal experience, what’s it’s like to be stuck in a rut and it’s not a nice place to be… but climbing out is nothing short of AMAZING!

I have achieved more in the last 2 weeks of the QSC than I have in the last 2 years – But it’s only because I have started taking the right kind of ‘imperfect’ action. The support in the group is terrific and I love being around like-minded people.

Your message is inspirational. Your warmth is so sincere. 🙂
    Thank you

  6. Hello Linda, fantastic video and very powerful message. In this world where everyone is a critic (the Internet term I think is troll) who beat down anyone who dares to try it is all too easy to hide our song from the world through fear of standing out from the crowd and being our true wonderful selves.

  7. Wise words Igor and may we all remember not to be trolls!! Every one of us has greatness inside – we’re just conditioned to “believe” that to honour our gifts means being conceited – totally misplaced idea!!
